Our Story

Dos Amigos,
Una Idea

Compa started the way all the best ideas do — two mates, a beat-up ute, and a road trip through Jalisco that neither of us wanted to end.

From The Highlands
To Your Esky

Somewhere between Guadalajara and Tequila town, sharing a Paloma with a compa — that's Mexican slang for your mate, your compadre — we asked the obvious question: why does every seltzer back home taste like someone whispered the word "fruit" at a glass of soda water?

So we did it properly. Real Blanco tequila from a family distillery in Jalisco. Real fruit. Sparkling water. Nothing else worth mentioning — no mountains of sugar, no mystery "spirit base", no shortcuts.

"A seltzer worth sharing with your compa
or it doesn't leave the shed."

The Trip

Three weeks in Jalisco. Too many Palomas to count. One idea scribbled on the back of a bus ticket somewhere outside Arandas.

The Shed Batches

Forty-one test batches in a mate's shed in Brunswick. Batch #27 nearly ended the friendship. Batch #41 became Ranch Water.

2025

First Cans

We shook hands with a fourth-generation distillery (NOM 1110) and put our first four seltzers into cans — two Ranch Waters, a grapefruit & blood orange, and a passionfruit.

Hoy

Salud, Amigos

Landing in fridges across Australia. Same rule as day one: if we wouldn't hand it to a compa, it doesn't get canned.
